Find a digital signal source. A DVD Player, CD Player, MD Player, MP3 Player, Satellite Receiver, or computer with a digital output (Digital outputs go by the names of SP/DIF, TOS, TOSLINK, AC3, USB, FIREWIRE, IEE-1394)

Find a digital amplifier with a digital input that matches the type of digital output you have.

Connect the signal source to the amplifier.
